We strongly believe that every one of God’s people should gather in small informal meetings of 8-16 people to be instructed by God’s word directly through studying the Bible. In this way, we learn together and encourage each other through His word.
We believe that doing Bible study in this way does two things that God wants his people to do:
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. – Hebrews 10:25
Gathering in small groups allows us to be connected to one another and to encourage each another in our Christian walk. A community of close Christian friends who meet weekly also provides emotional and spiritual fuel for the challenges of the Christian walk. We encourage, correct and model the Christian life to one another.
Our experience is that studying the Bible in small groups leads to deeper, warmer and genuine relationships built over years of shared learning and experiences. It gives us the opportunity to relate to one another with genuine care and concern through practical acts of love and encouragements in Christ.
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. – Acts 17:11
We believe that it is important for everyone not to just listen to the preacher but to read the Bible regularly and do the hard work of applying the Bible to their lives. Apart from helping each other get to the heart of what God is saying through His word, the adult Bible study groups teach important skills for reading and understanding the Bible.
Our Bible studies run parallel to the sermons being preached at our Sunday services. We call this “synchronized” Bible studies.
